The train was occupied by a 56-year-old man and a 57-year-old man, both from Madison Lake, Minn. The Brown County Sheriff’s Office says all three men were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The locomotive and semi were both damaged, and the Wilson grain trailer was totaled, authorities said. Emergency responders included the Sleepy Eye Fire Department, Sleepy Eye Ambulance, Minnesota State Patrol and Brown County deputies.

Following the crash, the sheriff’s office reminded drivers to use caution at railroad crossings by slowing down, stopping and listening for oncoming drivers, remembering to never drive around lowered gates and to always look both ways before crossing.
