2 Dead After Apparent Murder-Suicide in Waite Park
Two people were found dead after an apparent murder-suicide shooting at a Waite Park home Saturday afternoon.
Waite Park officers first responded to reports of gunfire around 2 p.m. at a residence on the 200 block of 10th Avenue North.

When officers arrived, they encountered two children who had managed to exit the home safely and without injuries. After entering the residence, police discovered two deceased adults. Both were pronounced dead at the scene and authorities have confirmed that no officers discharged their weapons during the incident.
Residents reported seeing a SWAT team staged at the property and Minnesota State Troopers were on site assisting with traffic control. As of late Saturday afternoon, a section of 10th Avenue remained closed from 2nd Street North to 3rd Street North while investigators worked the scene.

While specifics of the case have not yet been disclosed, it’s being treated as a potential murder-suicide, KNSI Radio reports, though the relationship between the deceased individuals has not yet been released.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension’s forensic team is assisting with crime scene investigation and multiple agencies responded to the scene. Authorities have emphasized there’s no ongoing threat to the public and investigation remains active.
