Firefighters responded to the 7400 block of North Street just before midnight and arrived to find heavy flames coming from the rear of the house. The fire escalated to a second alarm, prompting additional resources from Hopkins.

A 38-year-old man faces felony charges after a crash in St. Louis Park on December 30 left one pedestrian dead and another critically injured.

Police responded around 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30 to the 3900 block of Meadowbrook Road, where two pedestrians had reportedly been struck by a driver.

Steven Frane Bailey, the driver charged in the fatal crash at Park Tavern that killed two and injured three, will be released on bail. Bailey posted a $500,000 bond with conditions on Tuesday, following a hearing in Hennepin County District Court.

Andres Castillo, 26, was charged with 2nd-degree assault, prohibited person in possession of a firearm, fleeing a peace officer and receiving stolen property.
