The attack happened around 3:15 p.m. at a residence on the 400 block of Central Avenue West. The caller, identified as 33-year-old Kedu Husen Buseri, met officers at the door.

According to the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office, the suspects attached a chain to the machine and pulled it from its foundation but fled before they could load it into a stolen truck.

Believing the suspect was armed, officers quickly evacuated the victim and attempted to make contact with the man in the basement but received no response. SWAT activated and a perimeter was set up around the home.

Firefighters responded to the 7400 block of North Street just before midnight and arrived to find heavy flames coming from the rear of the house. The fire escalated to a second alarm, prompting additional resources from Hopkins.

Dustan Schmitt is charged in Ramsey County with one felony count of receiving stolen property after investigation linked him to the destruction and attempted sale of the statue.

When officers arrived, they found the victim with multiple stab wounds, including injuries to her face and arm.

According to the complaint, officers responded to a report of gunfire on the 2200 block of 5th Avenue North at approximately 4:43 a.m. and found a male victim lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds.

While officers were en route, the caller reported that her aunt had threatened to kill her mother. When they arrived, police heard screams from inside the residence.

According to court documents, Jordan Lee Schoen, 39, and Katrina Noelle Doneux, 34, were charged in Rice County District Court in connection with alleged abuse that took place between Dec. 2019 and Dec. 2021.
