St. Cloud police say a man is dead after an apparent random shooting early Sunday morning while he was standing at the doorway of a home. A suspect was later arrested and booked on suspicion of 2nd-degree murder.
Human Remains Found in 2 Locations in Northeast Minneapolis
Minneapolis police are investigating a suspected homicide after a 911 caller found "body parts" on the 300 block of Main St. NE. around 9:30 a.m. Thursday. It was initially reported by a passerby who said they found a human leg wrapped in plastic, according to initial scanner dispatches. Minneapolis Police Department spokesperson John Elder confirmed the news in an early afternoon media conference downtown.
Man Arrested After Driving into Protesters, Killing 1 in Uptown Minneapolis
A man who is believed to have driven his vehicle into a blockaded section of Uptown Minneapolis during a protest Sunday night was taken into custody by police after being detained by bystanders at the scene. The crash killed a 31-year-old woman who was at the protest and injured another person. The suspect driver is now being held without bail at the Hennepin County Jail.
2 More Minnesotans Arrested in Connection to January U.S. Capitol Riot
Two more Minnesotans who authorities accuse of being involved in the deadly riot and breach of the U.S. Capitol were arrested on Friday, June 11, the FBI said. The two men join three other Minnesotans who were previously charged in relation to the events on Jan. 6th in Washington, D.C.
Staples Man Sentenced for Minneapolis 3rd Precinct Arson
A Staples, Minn., man was sentenced Monday to more than two years in prison for his role in the arson at the Minneapolis Police Department’s 3rd Precinct building in late May 2020. Bryce Michael Williams, 27, earlier pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit arson. As part of his sentencing, he was also ordered to serve two years of supervised release and pay $12 million in restitution.
1 Killed, 1 Injured in Downtown Rochester Shooting
One man was killed and another man critically wounded in an early morning shooting in downtown Rochester near a parking ramp at 3rd St. SW & 1st Ave. A suspect was quickly taken into custody shortly after 2:30 a.m. Sunday near the original incident location.
14-Year-Old Boy Fatally Shot Near Woodbury Graduation Party
Woodbury police are investigating the fatal shooting of a teen boy near a graduation party on the 6100 block of Edgewood Ave. around 10:45 p.m. Saturday, June 5. Officers found between 30-40 people running from the area after receiving multiple 911 calls with people screaming in the background.
BCA: No Video Available After Police Killing of Armed Suspect in Uptown Minneapolis
The Ramsey County and Hennepin County deputies who are believed to have fatally shot an armed suspect at the top of a parking ramp in the Uptown area of south Minneapolis were not wearing body cameras and there is no squad car dashcam video of the incident, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said.
Authorities Kill Suspect Who Fired at Officers in Uptown Minneapolis Parking Ramp
A suspect was fatally shot by an officer inside a parking ramp near Fremont Ave. S. & W. Lake St. on Thursday afternoon. The man—who was confirmed to have died at the scene—was being pursued by officers before multiple gunshots were fired on the top floor of the parking ramp and it’s still unclear if the man fired shots at officers before he was struck.
