Kansas Man on Lam Since Guilty Verdicts Arrested After Woodbury Standoff
A Kansas man found guilty earlier this month of five felonies including rape and aggravated kidnapping was arrested Friday in Woodbury, Minn. with help from the US Marshals and a Washington County SWAT team after he barricaded himself inside a home.
Young Boy Found Dead in Trunk of Car After Traffic Stop in Mound
Authorities have confirmed the body of a young boy was found inside of a vehicle on Friday morning after a traffic stop near Shoreline Drive & Bartlett Avenue in Mound. Orono police, who patrol the city of Mound, said that around 7:10 a.m. Friday, they received a report of a suspicious vehicle. A 911 caller reported seeing a silver car, driving on a rim and with a back window smashed out.
Red Wing Woman Arrested for 2003 Death of Baby Found in Lake Pepin
The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension have announced an arrest in the 2003 death of a newborn baby boy who was found in Lake Pepin in 2003. The woman—Jennifer Lynn Matter, 50, of Belvidere Township—was recently identified through DNA as the child’s mother.
VIDEO: Bloomington Pursuit of Shots Fired Suspect Ends in Crash in Eagan
A suspect fleeing from the scene of gunshots fired toward a residence in Bloomington led officers on a pursuit that ended in a crash off Hwy. 77 at Cliff Rd. in Eagan early Thursday evening. The gunshots were reportedly fired on the 8500 block of 2nd Ave. S., with a vehicle seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed to the south.
BCA, State Patrol Providing Added Patrols, Investigation to Minneapolis PD
The State Patrol and Minnesota BCA are teaming up with Minneapolis police in addressing continued violent crime, adding visible patrols in the city and additional investigative resources. The effort is in response to a significant rise in gun-related crimes, carjackings and other violent crimes, the Department of Public Safety said Wednesday.
