Police in Rochester say an officer shot a suspect wielding an ax early Saturday morning after a traffic stop on Hwy. 63. The male suspect was believed to have robbed a business while armed with the ax, around 11 p.m. on the 2000 block of Broadway Ave. S.

Man Shot, Killed by Police During Minneapolis Standoff Identified
The man shot and killed by Minneapolis officers during a long-running standoff early Thursday morning at 904 21st. Ave. S. has been identified in an incident report as Andrew Tekle Sundberg, 20. Sundberg was suspected of firing a handgun multiple times while barricaded inside the third-floor apartment unit starting Wednesday night.

2 Charged After Apple Valley Woman Shot, Killed Amid Gunfight
Two men suspected in a gunfight outside an Apple Valley home earlier this week that left a 49-year-old woman dead have both now been charged. The victim was found in a vehicle, shot 10 times and was the mother of one of the suspects, identified as Billy Joe Pryor, Jr., 25.
