Firefighters rescued two young children from a burning townhome in Vadnais Heights on Saturday evening, officials said.

Officers from multiple agencies were searching the area of Vadnais Lake on Friday evening for a reportedly suicidal woman and her three children. According to initial law enforcement dispatch audio reviewed by MN CRIME, the woman’s husband reportedly died by suicide today and the woman then threatened to kill herself and her children.

Emergency crews were called to a strip mall in Vadnais Heights after a vehicle crashed through the front of a building, resulting in heavy damage to one of the stores in the complex.
