Officers found a Toyota Sienna minivan in the westbound lane facing east, with its driver, later identified as 37-year-old Zachary Scott Lee Wydella, regaining consciousness.

Anoka police, the Anoka-Champlin Fire Department and Allina EMS were dispatched just after 6:30 p.m. to the 1000 block of North Street after reports of a two-vehicle collision.

Officers responded just after 8:30 a.m. after getting a report of a person slumped over in the driver’s seat of a car. When police arrived, they found the man unresponsive with an apparent gunshot wound.

According to the criminal complaint, Kendra Faye Dunblazier, 30, was employed as a work release officer at the Anoka County Workhouse for just over three months in 2024.

The case began after deputies found an elderly woman injured inside an unlivable home in Linwood Township last month, along with several malnourished animals.

Authorities say the motorcyclist was westbound on Green Haven Parkway when he left the roadway and collided with a pole near the intersection of Thurston Avenue in Anoka shortly before 12:20 p.m.

Authorities say a woman was driving an SUV eastbound on Viking Blvd NW when she collided with a motorcyclist who had stopped in the roadway. The motorcyclist was waiting to make a left turn when he was struck from behind.

Deann M. Jensen is charged with four felony counts of mistreating animals for alleged abuse and neglect of dozens of cats in her care. Authorities say they first received complaints in Oct. 2022 about sick kittens being sold from her residence.

Columbia Heights police say two people were injured in a shooting just after 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon on the 4500 block of Central Avenue Northeast. Early indications show that a juvenile male shot into a vehicle occupied by three individuals before fleeing the scene.

Two pilots were able to escape serious injury after separate aircraft incidents Saturday in Anoka County.The first incident happened in Blaine around 2 p.m. when a pilot flying a Cessna 172 aircraft began experiencing low oil pressure.

Coon Rapids police were called to the home in March after the man told his neighbor that he had unintentionally discharged his handgun, causing the bullet to strike his house. Officers say the man was cooperative and turned over the handgun, as well as the discharged casing.

Emergency crews were called to the area of St. Francis Boulevard Northwest, just north of Alpine Drive around 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Bystanders and first responders attempted life-saving measures, however he was pronounced deceased at the scene. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time.

According to a criminal complaint, officers were called to Unity Hospital for a man suffering from a gunshot wound just before 3:00 p.m. on May 22 and talked with the victim about the shooting. The victim told officers the shooting occurred on the 600 block of Osborne Road in Fridley at an apartment building and a man named “Johnny” was the one who shot him.
